When a request for assistance is submitted, we contact the Veteran as soon as possible to begin verifying them. We listen to their story and are not discriminatory in any way, shape, or form to their circumstances. Regardless of whether the situation is dire (such as requiring food or shelter) or the person just needs a helping hand (for example, a single mother trying to purchase a Christmas gift for her child when she is just trying to get by), we do everything in our power within reason to assist with these requests. Although a large bulk of what we do is oriented toward helping homeless and disabled Veterans, we do not believe that you need to be homeless in order to receive financial support. The Veterans in Need Foundation (VINF) is focused on the assistance AND prevention of Veteran homelessness in America.

Financial strain is not the only problem that Veterans face in the modern-day atmosphere. Many Veterans returning from deployment and re-entering civilian life feel disconnected from society. This is a result of having spent years in a highly structured military environment, along with the violence that may or may not have occurred while overseas. These feelings can often lead to mental health concerns, as well as substance abuse over time. We are here to tell you that you are not alone. The first step to overcoming these challenges is to ask for help. The Veterans in Need Foundation is here to help provide you with food, furniture, financial support, and public transportation to/from interviews or doctor/mental health appointments. We can also refer you to organizations within our network that offer further assistance to Veterans in departments that we do not specialize in.
