OUR HISTORY AND MISSION
The Veterans in Need Foundation (VINF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2009 in the city of Boca Raton, Florida. Since then, we have expanded our licensure throughout a total of 39 United States of America, with a future goal of having a physical location in each state. This means we been blessed with the opportunity to help Veterans across the nation and are not limited to only helping Veterans near our Headquarters in Florida. In other words, a donation made to our organization from Florida can reach as far as Washington State and impact the lives of Veterans who may be experiencing state-specific financial strain (for example, if a hurricane were to devastate the state of Georgia, we can assist Veterans who are struggling with home repairs due to the hurricane).
There are numerous Point in Time (PIT) studies conducted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) which show that there is still a very large portion of the Veteran community experiencing homelessness. In the year 2019, a total of 37,085 Veterans across the nation were without shelter in the month of January—one of the coldest months of the year in most states. This is a major problem! Through the testimonials of the Veterans we have helped over the past 10 years, we have discovered a common theme… Many of our Veterans have stated that their homelessness could have been avoided if they had been helped earlier, and that, unfortunately, the system in place is designed to help those who are in a desperate state—not to prevent the desperate state from happening in the first place. A single utility bill that cannot be paid, many times, can lead to a cascade of financial devastation. Therefore, we provide financial support within our means to Veterans who have both reached the point of homelessness and those who have not.
Our Organization is founded upon the idea of serving those who have put their lives on the line for our country, and in doing so have served us. Although there are many helpful government organizations that provide immense support to our Veterans, there is still a need for smaller, donation-based charities like ourselves who can personally impact lives and offer immediate assistance. Due to the sheer size of the United States of America, many veterans wait long periods of time for their concrete benefits to take effect through government programs. There are also situations where what is provided to Veterans is not enough for them to survive in today’s economic climate. We stand united with a common goal of assisting US Veterans as efficiently as possible, while treating each case with the utmost consideration, as if it were someone in our family.
